Alexander Ip and Christine Gabardo, the co-founders of U of T cleantech startup CERT Systems Inc. have been selected as Breakthrough Energy Fellows, part of the BE network founded by Bill Gates.

The Breakthrough Energy Fellows program provides innovators and business experts from around the world with support to advance the groundbreaking technologies needed to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. The program’s second cohort is focused on the areas of hydrogen, carbon capture, agriculture, cement, electrofuels, and long-duration storage.
 
With the support of the program, CERT will advance its technology to create sustainable chemicals from carbon dioxide in the air.
