He is the author of The Law of Privacy (2013, 2017 and 2021 eds) published by Lexis Nexis and Halsbury’s Laws of Canada – Access to Information & Privacy Title (2005, 2011, 2016 & 2020 eds.), published by Butterworth’s. Michael has over 20 years of experience dealing with information governance and privacy-related questions. His past experience includes serving as a member of the federal Department of Justice, a partner at a national law firm and as Vice-President, Privacy and Security at an Ontario Crown Agency. He has also been recognized as one of the 2024 Best Lawyers in Canada for both Information Technology Law and Data Privacy & Security Law.
